Job Description
Job Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements and data management initiatives. Define data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders and translate them into data models that capture the semantics, relationships, and constraints of the data. Work closely with data architects to align data models with the overall data architecture strategy and roadmap. Ensure that data models are integrated, consistent, and interoperable across systems and applications. Design database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and constraints based on data modeling principles and performance considerations. Optimize database structures for efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. Define and enforce data standards, and controls related to data modeling, including naming conventions, data dictionaries, and metadata management. Establish data quality standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within the data models. Implement data validation rules, data quality checks, and data profiling techniques. Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data models and database designs. Optimize data structures, query performance, and indexing strategies to improve data access and processing efficiency. Document data models, data definitions, and data lineage in clear and comprehensive documentation. Communicate data modeling concepts, decisions, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, database administrators, and software developers, to implement data models in production systems. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to data modelers and team members.
Responsibilities
Required Experience & Skills: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a data modeler, data architect, or database designer, with specific expertise in leading data modeling projects. Expertise in designing and implementing data models for data lakes and data warehouses Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, techniques, and methodologies, including ER modeling, dimensional modeling, and data normalization/denormalization. Proficiency in ERwin data modeling tool. Optional - ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data modeling techniques for both transactional and analytical systems. Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data integration patterns. Preferable with project experience in Health Care industry Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Leadership experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
